Terms of use

The agreement between you and the person who runs CV Builder. Please read it with the privacy policy.

Who we are

CV Builder is run by [Operator name], an individual. These terms are an agreement between you and [Operator name]. By making an account, you agree to them and to the privacy policy.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or over to make an account.
  • Use an email address that is yours, and keep access to it safe: it is how you sign in.
  • An account is for one person. Do not let anyone else use yours.
  • If you think someone else has got into your account, sign out everywhere from your account page, and tell the grievance contact.

Your content

You own your CVs, letters and everything else you write. You let us store, copy and process it only to provide the service to you: for example, to make your PDFs, and to show your public page if you turn it on.

Only put in what you have the right to share. If your CV names other people, such as referees, make sure they are happy for you to.

What is not allowed

Do not use CV Builder, and in particular a public CV page, to publish or share anything that:

  • belongs to someone else, and that you have no right to share;
  • pretends to be someone else;
  • you know to be false, or that misleads people about who you are or where it came from;
  • is obscene or pornographic, invades someone’s privacy, or insults or harasses people for their gender, race, ethnic group, religion or caste;
  • harms children;
  • infringes a copyright, trade mark, patent or other right;
  • threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, its friendly relations with other countries, or public order, or encourages a crime;
  • promotes gambling, money laundering, or online games that the law does not allow;
  • carries a virus or other harmful code;
  • breaks any law.

Also, do not:

  • try to get into other people’s accounts, or around our limits;
  • copy the site in bulk with automated tools, or put a heavy load on it;
  • use it to send spam or scams, or to collect other people’s personal data.

If you do, we may remove what breaks these rules, turn off your public page, or suspend or close your account.

Fair use and limits

Some things have a fair limit, so the service runs well for everyone: for example, how many CVs can be read with AI each day, and how many CVs and letters an account can hold. The builder tells you when you reach one.

Free and paid features

Making and downloading CVs is free. Premium templates are free until 1 January 2027. Paid plans, when they arrive, will have their own terms, shown before you pay.

Public CV pages

Your public page is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time. You are responsible for what it shows.

Anyone can report a page. If a page breaks these terms, or the law requires it, we may turn it off, and hold its address so no one else can take it. We tell you why by email. Reports are dealt with within the times on the Contact page.

No guarantee of results

We work to make CVs clear and readable, but we cannot promise any result, such as an interview, a job, or how an employer’s software ranks you.

We provide CV Builder as it is. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but it may sometimes be unavailable, and features may change. Keep copies of the documents that matter to you, for example by downloading them.

Our responsibility

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not taking reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that could not be foreseen, for business losses, or for what employers and others decide.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law does not allow it to be limited, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing in them takes away your rights as a consumer.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. You can restore it by signing in within 7 days; after that it is erased.

An account not used for 3 years is erased. We email you 30 days and 7 days before, and signing in keeps it.

If you break these terms, we may suspend or close your account, and we will tell you why. If you think we got it wrong, write to the grievance contact.

Complaints

Write to the grievance contact on the Contact page. It names the grievance officer, and says how quickly we deal with complaints and how to appeal a decision.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of India, and the courts of India can decide disputes about them. If you live in the UK or the EU, you keep the protection of the consumer law where you live, and can also bring a claim in your own courts.

Changes to these terms

The date at the top shows when these terms last changed. When they change in a way that matters, we tell you by email first, and ask you to agree to the new version the next time you sign in.
