ATS check
Check how your CV reads. Then fix what it finds.
Applicant tracking systems are the software many employers use to sort CVs. The builder checks yours as you edit, with a score out of 100 and what to improve.
Check my CVFree for good
You sign in first: nothing is checked without an account. Then bring in an old CV, or type your details in.
What is checked
The score is out of 100, in three parts.
Readability40 points
Whether the words come out of your PDF whole and in order, and land where an ATS looks for them: your name and contact details, headings it knows, dates and job titles, and text large enough to read.
Content40 points
Whether the words say what recruiters look for: a summary of a good length, a headline, points that start with what you did and give figures, your skills listed, and no clichés or gaps left to fill in.
Polish20 points
Whether it is free of slips: spelling, British and American spellings mixed, points too short or too long, lines broken mid-sentence, dates newest first, and a sensible number of pages.

How the score is made
- Each part starts full. Each rule takes points off for each thing it finds, up to a limit, so a long list of small slips cannot sink the score.
- Some findings are tips, such as a photo or two columns. They depend on the job and the country, so they take nothing off.
- It is fixed rules, not AI, so the same CV always gets the same score.
- Only what your CV shows is checked: entries you leave out and sections you turn off are not on the page an ATS reads. Anything you dismiss stops counting.
The score in words

Then fix it, in the editor
Where you write
Each thing to improve sits under the field it is about, so you fix it where you work.
One-click fixes
Many come with a fix made in one click, such as “Responsible for managing” made “Managed”, each with Undo.
Fix with AI
Where a fix needs new words, the AI can write them from your CV, and you review them first.
Match a job advert
Paste an advert to see which of the skills, tools and qualifications it asks for your CV has. A missing skill is added only once you say you have it.
No one can promise how a particular employer’s system will rank you. The score shows how readable and complete your CV is.
